These Terms of Use govern your use of Balance of Nations (the "Site," at balanceofnations.com). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
The game
Balance of Nations is a free historical-strategy game provided for entertainment and educational purposes. Scenarios are dramatized works of historical fiction based on real events. Outcomes within the game are designed for gameplay and are not historical claims, political commentary, or advice of any kind.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems;
- manipulate scores or leaderboards, or use bots or automated means to do so;
- choose a nickname that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or impersonates someone else; or
- use the Site in violation of any applicable law.
We may remove content or restrict access to keep the Site fair and working.
Accounts
Sign-in is optional and handled by a third-party identity provider. You're responsible for activity under your account. You can request deletion of your account data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The Site's original text, design, code, and artwork are owned by the operator and may not be copied or redistributed without permission. Historical facts and public-domain references remain free for anyone to use.
No warranty
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores and progress will always be preserved.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
